Tooth Fairy 2 Starrring Larry the Cable Guy - DVD Giveaway

When it comes to the tooth fairy, my kids get very excited!  What child doesn't like to wake up with money under their pillow?  Heck, I'd love to wake up with money under my pillow too - just as long as I wasn't missing any teeth!

 Top 5 Film Fairies

Inspired by TOOTH FAIRY 2

The comedy with bite is back and funnier than ever; TOOTH FAIRY 2 arrives on Blu-ray and DVD March 6 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. The one man comedy phenomenon, Blue Collar Comedy Tour’s Larry the Cable Guy (Cars, Cars 2, and History Channel’s Only in America) sinks his teeth into this outrageous follow-up to the 2010 theatrical hit Tooth Fairy.

In TOOTH FAIRY 2, Larry becomes part of a long list of awesome fairies on film. This feature will explore our top five favorite fairies, including Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Tinker Bell in Hook.

Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Stanley Tucci stars as Puck in the 1999 film adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In this adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, Tucci’s Puck is a clever and mischievous sprite, who, under the tutelage of King Oberon (played by Rupert Everett), plays tricks on unsuspecting lovers who wander into the forest which he inhabits. His hijinks include making people fall in love with each other, facilitating mud wrestling, and giving an amateur actor the head of an ass.

Fairy Godmother in Shrek 2

Jennifer Saunders voices the evil Fairy Godmother in 2004’s Shrek 2. This atypical fairy godmother is more of a self-involved business woman than the selfless fairy that people imagine, making shady deals, running a heartless factory, and using her magic for personal gain. However, Fairy Godmother’s shining moment may be when she performs a stellar rendition of “Holding Out For a Hero” at the royal ball, before being disintegrated by her own spell.

Tinker Bell in Hook

1991’s Hook follows a grown-up Peter Pan who has forgotten his childhood and all of the adventures it contained, but is forced to relive the magic of Neverland when Captain Hook abducts his children and holds them hostage there. In this revamp of the classic tale, Julia Roberts plays an especially fiesty version of Tinker Bell. Tinker Bell isn’t afraid to take controll of a situation, and often works to save Peter’s life because she is deeply in love with him.

Crysta in FernGully: The Last Rainforest

FernGully: The Last Rainforest is a 1992 animated film about a forest filled with magical creatures, and their struggle to save their home from pollution and logging. Crysta (voiced by Samantha Mathis) is a young fairy who meets a logger named Zak, and accidentally shrinks him down to her size. Crysta heroically battles Hexxus, an evil spirit that feeds off of pollution and destruction, and manages to defeat him and save FernGully.

Mandy in Ella Enchanted

In 2004’s Ella Enchanted, Minnie Driver plays Mandy, a kindhearted household fairy. Mandy is the only person, aside from Ella herself, who knows about Ella’s “gift” of obedience. While well meaning and helpful, Mandy’s spells often go awry. For instance, Mandy’s boyfriend, Benny, was accidentally turned into a book. However, in the end Mandy is able to help Ella reverse her curse of obedience and change Benny back into a human, making her an awesome fairy.
