Natural Disaster Survival Kit - Are You Prepared?

Let's face it... the world is a very strange and unusual place, and the promise of tomorrow is not a guarantee!  Of course I do my best to think positive, but it is always better to be safe than sorry!

My husband and I plan for the future, and talk about what we would do if certain scenarios were to affect our family and where we live.  We may take a different approach than other families - but our main goal is always focused around the safety of our family.  Especially our children!

More and more people are becoming "Doomsday Preppers" and and preparing for the "End of the World."   Stocking their basements or underground bunkers with survival kits and supplies. Things like food, water, clothing, and weapons that are stored away in case of natural disasters like tornadoes, earth quakes, floods, drought, blackouts, and even political unrest.

While my husband and I haven't gone to those extremes - we do have a small pantry and a camper stocked with the basic essentials that would support our family for a short period of time.  It never hurts to have a plan in place.

What must-have items do you have in your survival kit?

I never really thought about having a Survival Kit, but I think it is a good idea. I would have plenty of batteries and good working flashlights. A lot of Gallons of water and a big supply of canned foods with a can opener. I do not know what else, but I should look up and see what else I need.
