Stories from the Bright Side - A Little Dinner Table Humor About Being Cheap!

Lets face it, when you combine food and kids, the possibilities are endless.  Food fights, temper tantrums, claiming they don't like what's on their plate... I'm sure we have all gone through these same situations and then some.  I have been asked to share a personal story of my own and help spread the word about Happy Family and their new "Stories from the Bright Side" series.  Luckily my kids aren't picky eaters, but the dinner table sure can be an entertaining place to be!

Do you like telling stories about the fun and crazy things your kids do? We, as parents, have all experienced funny moments around food and Stories from the Bright Side is meant to make people realize that others are dealing with the same things we are!

Here is my funny food story:

I will be the first to admit that I LOVE getting a great deal!  I have shared posts on my blog numerous times about my savings, it's what I love.  I don't like to think of myself as cheap, I like to think of myself as smart! Why should I pay full price when I don't have to?

Most things are priced way too high as it is and if I can save some cash by shopping sales and/or using a coupon, I'm going to take full advantage of that!   Whenever I hear the word "cheap" part of me cringes inside, it almost sounds like a dirty word to me !  After all, I like to think of it as being smart and frugal!  Something can be inexpensive without being cheap - there really is a difference!

Anyways, we were eating dinner one night, we were eating Stouffer's frozen Lasagna.  I got the lasagna with a FREE coupon that I had received in the mail just a few days earlier.  I just happened to mention to my husband that we were eating a FREE dinner!

My then 7 year old son asked a question and I thought my husband was going to fall on the floor laughing!  He asked "MOM, why are you SO cheap, you never want to pay for anything!?"  Then of course my 4 1/2 year old daughter had to chime in too with something of her own.  She said "Yeah Mom, why won't you pay that much for that cute little baby I want in the store?"

I couldn't help it, I started laughing and so did my husband.  Funny but 100% true and accurate!  Kids are so funny and so brutally honest.  Kids say the funniest things and you can't help but laugh!  I know our kids keep us laughing each and every day.  Making memories with my children and family is what my life is all about!

Don't let a food fight or food battle take over your "Happy Family!"

That is such a cute story! When my son was younger he was embarrassed by my frugal ways, but now he's a better saver than I ever was.
