Old Time Candy Company: Choose Your Decade - Review and Giveaway

When was the last time you saw something that took you back to your childhood?  It's amazing how quickly we can forget and how easily a memory be triggered.  Do you remember wax lips, candy cigarettes (imagine if these were sold in stores today),  hot dog bubble gum, bubble gum cigars or Pop Rocks?

Old Time Candy Company has all the favorite candy from your childhood and more!  They have old fashioned candy all the way back to the 1920's!  Over 400 candy varieties, including a variety of Decade Assortments.

I recently had the pleasure to review a 70's decade box assortment.  I chose that decade for the simple fact that my husband and I were both born in the 70's.  When we opened the box we were both taken back in time.  We saw candy that we hadn't seen in YEARS!!  It was a fun blast from the past.

Decade boxes are candy assortments from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s or an All Decades assortment.  All are available in two sizes.  The 4 pound decade assortment boxes measure 12 x 9 x 3 inches and are jammed with over 70 pieces of candy.  The 2 pound decade assortment box is 9.5 x 7 x 3 inches with over 40 pieces of candy.

In addition to the great assortment of candy, I loved the box they arrived in.  I think that the box in itself is a great collector item.  As a matter of fact, my dad who loves to collect "old things" asked if he could have the box when it was empty.  He wants to put it up on a shelf.

My dad is one of the hardest people to shop for and I know that the 60's decade box will make the perfect gift for him!

A typical assortment may include the following candies: 100 Grand Bar, Atomic Fire Balls, BB Bats, Bit-O-Honey, Blow Pops, Boston Baked Beans, Bottle Caps, Bubble Gum Cigars, Butterscotch Disks, Candy Buttons on paper tape, Candy Cigarettes, Candy Necklace, Candy Ring, Caramel Creams (Bull's Eyes), Charleston Chew, Charms Assorted Squares, Charms Sweet Pops, Chick-o-Stick, Cinnamon Disks, Dubble Bubble Gum, French Chew Taffy, Fruit Stripe Gum, Gobstoppers, Good & Plenty, Home Run Baseball Gum, Hershey Special Dark Bar, Hot Dog Bubble Gum, Hot Tamales, Jawbreakers, Kit Kat, Kits Taffy, Laffy Taffy, Lemonheads, Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip, Lollies, Marshmallow Ice Cream Cones, Mike & Ike, Necco Wafers, Now & Laters, Peanut Butter Bars, Pixy Stix, Pop Rocks, Razzles, Red Hots, Reese's Pieces, Ring Pops, Rolo, Sixlets, Smarties, Peppermint Sticks, Sugar Daddy, Swedish Fish, Tootsie Pop Drops, Tootsie Pops, Tootsie Roll, Wax Bottles (Nik-L-Nips), Wax Lips, Whatchamacallit, York Peppermint Patties and Zotz Sours.

Please keep in mind that this is a typical list. The actual candy you receive may vary according to availability.

How do you decide which decade box to purchase? A good guideline is to determine the recipient's age when they were 10 years old. Alternatives are to purchase a decade assortment for a specific event such as: graduation, wedding date, birthday, etc.  They even have a Chocolate Lovers Assortment!

Take a look around Old Time Candy Company and I promise that you will see a type of candy that you had completely forgotten about.  This is the perfect gift for that person who is always difficult to shop for or who already has everything.
