Making Magic Reindeer Food for Santa's Reindeer - Frugal Christmas Fun!

Are you baking cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve? Don't forget to prepare some special treats for Santa's reindeer too!

Santa and his flying reindeer have always been a magical part of Christmas for as long as I can possibly remember.  I remember as a little kid wondering how Santa and his reindeer could fly around the world in a single night, deliver all those presents, ans most of all... how could reindeer really fly?

This weekend the kids and I made Magic Reindeer Food for Santa's reindeer!  Not only is this Christmas activity fun, it's simple and frugal!  All you need is oatmeal, a dash of cinnamon and some glitter!

How to make Magic Reindeer Food:

2 cups oats
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup glitter

Mix the ingredients in a large bowl, put into small treat bags and attach label!  For larger batches, you can just add the oats, a little cinnamon, and glitter to your liking!  There really is no "magic" ratio!

Oats are a Reindeer's favorite food, cinnamon is their favorite smell and glitter reflect the light from Rudolph's nose!

Magic Reindeer Poem:

Sprinkle this food outside on Christmas Eve.
The moonlight will make it sparkle bright.
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam,
This will guide them to your home!

Have you ever made reindeer food?

I and my kids have never made reindeer food but since we have all the supplies in our house right now we probably will. Thanks for the great idea :)
