Learning How To Balance Life, Home & Blog After Going Back to Work!

You may have noticed that I wasn't around much this week - hopefully some of you did!  I will admit that things were more than just a little bit crazy this week, and I'm just trying to figure it all out.

Up until last week, I've been a stay-at-home-mom, not working outside of the home since I was 3 months pregnant with my oldest.  Being a stay-at-home-mom allowed me to raise my children, enjoy every moment and milestone with them, and be a regular and active volunteer at their school.

My children are now 12 1/2 and 9 1/2, and I just stepped back into the workforce.  I took a position in the Title Room at my daughter's elementary school.  This is the same school where I have been a volunteer and PTO member since my son started Kindergarten there, 8 years ago.  This year my son moved to the junior high, so sadly he's no longer in the same school.

As you can imagine - I'm trying to figure out a whole new routine and schedule and I'm finding that managing my time is going to take some adjusting!  I no longer have all day long to do my laundry, go grocery shopping, run errands, and do my regular workouts.  I know that it will take me a little bit of time to "figure it out," but I'm hoping that it won't take too long!

I'm actually very excited about my upcoming Holiday Gift Guide!  My first item arrived today, so stay tuned!

Do you have any tips or advice  for a newly "back to work" Mom?

Good luck with the adjustment. Everything takes a while to fall into a routine, so don't beat yourself up to much in the interim!

Yay for the gift guide!

I have been working since I started my blog. It is so tough! I have really cut back but am working on being more productive. I stay up WAY too late most nights to get things done. Before I stressed about getting a post up everyday. Now I focus on getting at least 3. If something gets done, I am happy. If it does not, I try not to worry about it like I use to and get it done when I can. Family first, then job, then blog.

I saw your comment about going back to work, and I'm so excited for you. Congratulations on your new job Bridget, how exciting it must be. I can only imagine how stressful it must be to juggle everything though, but I know that you are a super multitasker, so you'll soon find a way that works for you.
