Some Things in Life Really Are FREE!

I'll be the first to admit that I'm always shopping for bargains.  I also love getting freebies and freebie coupons.  I think that the only thing more exciting than getting something for a "steal of a deal" is getting one that is totally unexpected!

A friend and I went to the gym and then headed to Target to check out the Christmas and toy clearance.  We have gone to Target every single day this week looking for great after Christmas deals.  Yesterday the Christmas clearance was just 75% off but today is was 90%.  There is one specific toy that I REALLY want for my daughter's 7th birthday next week.  But the toys are still just 30% off and it's just too much to justify.  I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the toys to be 50% - 75% off very soon.

On our way home, we decided to stop by Starbucks and get a Tazo Chai Latte.  We went through the drive-thru and placed our order.  Our total was just over $7.  There were 4 cars in front of us, but it didn't take but a few minutes for us to reach the window.

As the young man opened the window he said: "These are FREE!"  I asked him why they were free and he said... "Because I said they were free!"

Okay, LOL!  We handed him a $3 tip and told him "Thank you so much, we love you!"

We still have no idea why our drinks were free but we are so thankful and super excited!  Maybe the person in the car in front of us paid for our drinks?  He never did tell us, so it will remain a mystery.

Have you had any unexpected surprises lately?

Wow...I wish someone would say that about my house payment. :)

Something similar happened to us one night at a pizza parlor. My husband went to pick up the food we had ordered for a game night, and when he got there they said, ' The man that came in before you paid for the next persons pizza. So... yours is free.'

That's awesome! Every once in a while I will pay for someone's order behind me in the line in Starbucks; and every once in a while someone will buy my coffee when I get up to the register. It's kinda nice to know that good deeds are being done, even if it's just a few dollars it makes my day whether I'm paying or whether I'm the one getting it for free.

I'm sure the coffee was way better because it was free!
