Target Clearance Saved My Daughter's Birthday: Toys 50% Off

We went to my parents house this year for Christmas.  We had a wonderful weekend and the kids really had a blast.  Christmas morning was wonderful, the kids were thrilled with their gifts.  The rest of the day was spent relaxing around the house in our jammies and playing with all the new toys and gifts.

On the way back home, hubby had asked the kids who their Christmas was and if they got everything they wanted.  Our son said, "YES!"  Our daughter said, "All but one thing, that penguin!"

Penguin?  What penguin?  We hadn't heard anything about a penguin!  Of course, I felt terrible because we have always been able to get them exactly what they ask for.  But this time, I honestly had no idea.  After a few more questions we learned it was a toy penguin that held an egg in its tummy and the egg came out with a baby.

So, it was my mission to find this toy and get it for her birthday, which is TODAY.  First, I searched online and found prices from $60 all the way up to $120 on Ebay.  Wow, that's a huge price difference and a price that I wasn't willing to pay.

Last week, my friend and I went to Target to check out the clearance deals.  We went on Monday after the gym and in the toy section was PENBO!  The penguin that my daughter really wanted.  They were 30% off and the price was $50!  There were 10 of them, so I felt safe enough to check back during the week and hope that the price would drop a little more.

Being the obsessed mommy that I am, I went to Target everyday last week!  Checking the prices and hoping for it to drop to atleast 50% off.  My determination finally paid off!  50% off and the price of $29.98.

Now my "baby" has everything she wants!  :)

Wow, that's awesome Bridget! I did not even see any of those at our Target clearance sales, so it sounds like you got really lucky. I sure wish my son's Lightning McQueen bike would go on sale like this:)

That is so great! I've never heard of this penguin before...but my granddaughter is too young to want something like that yet. Congrats on the great buy!
